Download Extension

The Universal Product Importer browser extension lets TrendScout read products straight from AliExpress, Sunsky, Temu and other sites in your own browser. Install it once on every computer you work from.

1. Download

Works in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers (not Firefox or Safari).

2. Install (about 2 minutes)

  1. Unzip the downloaded file. Move the folder universal-importer-extension to a place it can stay permanently, for example Documents. Do not delete or move it afterwards — the browser runs the extension from that folder.
  2. Open a new browser tab and type chrome://extensions in the address bar (Edge: edge://extensions), then press Enter.
  3. Switch on Developer mode (toggle at the top right of that page).
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the universal-importer-extension folder (the one that contains manifest.json), then click Select Folder.
  5. The extension Universal Product Importer — Profit Tracker appears in the list. Click the puzzle-piece icon in the browser toolbar and pin it so it stays visible.
  6. Open the extension (click its icon) and paste your Business token into the box, then Save. If you need the token, contact your admin. Admins can find it in TrendScout under the account menu (bottom left) → Browser Extension — but they should not click "Generate new token", because that stops the old token working on every computer. Never share the token outside your team.
  7. Back in TrendScout, open a page that uses the extension (for example Sunsky Importer → Fetch Product). If it says the extension did not answer, go to chrome://extensions and click the reload arrow on the extension, then try again.

Updating to a newer version

  1. Download the new zip from this page and unzip it.
  2. Copy its files over the old universal-importer-extension folder (replace everything).
  3. Open chrome://extensions and click the reload arrow on the extension. Your token stays saved.

Good to know

• The extension only talks to the sites it imports from and to your TrendScout / eBay tracker; it does not record your browsing.

• Chrome may show a "Disable developer mode extensions" notice when the browser starts — choose Keep / dismiss it. If the extension ever gets switched off, turn it back on in chrome://extensions.
